The Days Are Getting Longer… And So Are My Early Morning Walks

by Angie V Martin on Mar 18, 2025 0

These morning walks have changed my life. I promise I am not dramatizing it. Getting to see the beginning of a new day full of possibilities is nothing short of a blessing. And with the days getting longer comes earlier sunrises, which is my favorite part of my walks.

Mom Life Ain’t a Track Meet, It’s a Marathon (Why Ice Cube’s Wisdom Can Be Applied on the Daily)

by Meredith Bazirgan on Mar 18, 2025 0

Mom life is a marathon, not a sprint. You see, every mom I’ve ever known, near and far, experiences mom guilt to some degree, at some point in their journey of motherhood. And typically, it doesn’t serve us, especially when it leads us to say no to the things that fill us up. So here are a few ways I’ve found to kick mom guilt to the curb and live my #momlife marathon to the fullest.

Saying NO to ‘New Year, New Me’

by Chelsey Weaver on Mar 18, 2025 0

If what you’re doing feels overwhelming, pick one part of it that you CAN do. Prioritize and decide what the most important, necessary pieces are — instead of what would be the ideal. (Cue the song from Daniel Tiger: “When something is hard to do, try it a little bit at a time.”)

by Angie V Martin on Mar 18, 2025 0

We all have some version of a 10K in our lives. We all have a challenge ahead of us that we can use to break through the maternal wall. And we can shatter all the ideas out there that limit us as women who happen to also be moms. I hope my story will inspire you to find out what your 10K is and decide that you will get through it and come out stronger than when you started. I know you can.

Bully Proof Your Child with Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu

by Rachel Rich on May 7, 2025 0

From learning and practicing jiu-jitsu, a child becomes stronger, faster, and smarter. When faced with a bully, a child with a jiu-jitsu background is not likely to back down. When bullies sense this unyielding confidence, it is more likely they will back down before engaging. A child who has self-confidence in his ability to defend himself will exude that. This can prevent many bullying encounters. At the same time, jiu-jitsu instills humility.

What Food Allergy Moms Want You to Know

by Katie Biddle on May 6, 2025 0

You know one of your son’s friends can’t eat gluten, dairy, or peanuts, so you buy a box of gluten-free brownie mix. You prepare it according to the ‘dairy alternative’ recipe. But there’s a problem. That sponge you used to wash the mixing bowl? It cleaned peanut butter off a breakfast plate this morning. That wooden spoon you used to mix the batter? It mixed wheat flour last night and might have small traces of gluten (even after washing). Yes, some kids are that sensitive.
