There is nothing better than a fresh blanket of fluffy white snow in New England — and snow tubing is just the way to enjoy it! When you want something a bit more adventurous than your neighborhood sledding hill but aren’t quite up for skiing or snowboarding, snow tubing is the answer! It’s a great way to get outdoors in the beautiful Boston area with well-manicured tracks to guarantee a great run.

Massachusetts

Ski Ward

Shrewsbury
$27 on weekdays, $38 on weekends/holidays ($2 discount if purchased online)
Ages 6+ and 42 inches or taller 

Located in the heart of central mass, Ski Ward has up to 12 tubing lanes and two lifts that will carry you up and down the slopes as your heart desires. Ski Ward has a snack bar in their fireside lodge and adult beverages in their Slopeside Bar & Grill. 

Butternut Ski Area and Tubing Center

Great Barrington
$30 on Fridays, $35 on weekends/holidays
Ages 5+ 

Head to the Berkshires and make it a weekend trip! Tickets must be purchased online ahead of time and are specific for a two-hour time slot. Up to 10 tubing lanes and a magic carpet lift make it easy to get the most out of your time. Food and snacks are available in both lodges with adult beverages in the upper restaurant. 

Nashoba Valley Tubing Park

Ages 6+ and 42 inches or taller 

Sitting squarely at the 495 and Route 2 junction, Nashoba Valley offers up to 18 tubing lanes and two lifts. Tickets are set for a two-hour tubing time slot. Enjoy a full snack bar (including beer, wine, and spirits) at an outdoor picnic table. There is limited indoor seating as well. 

New England 

McIntyre Ski Area

Manchester, New Hampshire
$29 Thursdays, $35 Friday-Sunday
Ages 5+ and 44 inches or taller 

Just an hour outside of Boston, head north to McIntyre Ski Area with up to eight tubing lanes, a magic carpet lift, and two hours of fun. Online reservations are highly recommended. You could also host a winter birthday party here for up to 35 guests!

Pats Peak Ski Area

Henniker, New Hampshire
$38 
Ages 5+ and 44 inches or taller 

Just outside of Concord, Pats Peak has 600 feet of tubing! Tickets must be purchased online in advance and are for two-hour time slots. Helmets are suggested and can be rented at the rental shop. There is food and drink on site, including adult beverages. 

Yawgoo Valley Snow Tubing Park

Exeter, Rhode Island

42 inches or taller 

Head south to Rhode Island’s only ski area! Tubing slots are 90 minutes and must be purchased online ahead of time. There is limited food and drinks on site, so pack some car snacks for the trip down and back.

Sarah grew up in Connecticut, but Massachusetts has always felt like a second home with extended family across the state.

With a master's in public health and a lifelong passion for healthcare, Sarah moved to Boston after graduation. She is a fierce advocate for better access and reducing the complexities of the healthcare system.

Sarah met her husband covered in sweat and lifting weights at a local CrossFit gym (talk about first impressions!). They adopted a rescue pup from Mississippi and welcomed their daughter in 2021.

After nearly a decade of city living, Sarah and her family headed to the Metro West area to start a new adventure in the suburbs.

Sarah has volunteered for Community Consulting Teams of Boston (CCT), offering pro bono management consulting to Boston-area nonprofits, and she served a three-year term on the board. She is an alumna member of the Kappa Delta sorority and has served as an advisor to the Northeastern chapter since 2014.
