Frog Pond

This outdoor ice rink is open for the season! Skating begins at 10 a.m. each morning and runs through 9 p.m. most nights. The Frog Pond Café serves a variety of food and drink options during skating hours.

Skate @ Canal District Kendall 

Kendall Square, Cambridge
$6 admission (skaters under 13 are $1)
Rentals ($10/adult, $6/child)

This professionally maintained outdoor skating rink is open from mid-December to mid-March, weather permitting. It opens at noon on weekdays and 11 a.m. on weekends. The rink also offers skating lessons and has a holiday ice show on Dec. 14 (including free admission!).

DCR Kelly Outdoor Rink 

Jamaica Plain
Admission is free
Rentals ($3 Monday-Friday 3-7 p.m., Saturday 1-7 p.m., Sunday 12-7 p.m.)

Outdoor public skating at this rink begins in mid-December. This public rink is free to enter and is open from noon to 7:30 p.m. every day except Saturdays, when it opens at 1 p.m. There is on-site parking, and adaptive skating equipment is available.

Warrior Ice Arena

Brighton
$15 admission ($18 on weekends)

This large indoor skating rink is where the Boston Bruins train! It is open for public skating for all ages and levels, but the schedule does vary and pre-registration is required. For older kids and teens, there is a “rock ‘n’ skate” on Friday nights (9-9:50 p.m.) with a DJ and fun lighting.

DCR Steriti Memorial Rink

North End
Admission is free
Rentals available

Indoor public skating at Steriti Memorial Rink includes a snack bar, harbor views, and adaptive skating equipment. The schedule varies by day. There is stick time on Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to 11:50 a.m. Paid parking is available on-site.

West of Boston

Jack Kirrane Ice Skating Rink

Enjoy open-air ice skating at this historic rink. Public skate hours vary by day. The rink also offers various skating lessons and family stick and puck sessions on Sundays.

Babson Skating Center

Babson College owns this well-maintained rink that offers open skate times, lessons, and a pro shop. Open skate is available to skaters of all levels (a waiver is required). Check the schedule ahead of time because it occasionally changes.

Worcester Common Oval

This 12,000-square-foot rink in the heart of downtown Worcester has piped-in music, concessions, holiday lights, and more! The schedule varies by day, and there are many special events throughout the season, like a skate with Santa and free admission days.

North of Boston

MarketStreet Rink

Book your skating time online before heading to this outdoor rink in the MarketStreet shopping center. It is open from 3-8 p.m. Monday-Friday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturdays, and 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sundays. While you’re there, enjoy the surrounding shopping and food options.

Flynn Rink

Rentals ($5 for figure or hockey skates)

Weekend public skating at this indoor skating rink is open! All ages and abilities are welcome. There is both a big and mini rink, four locker rooms, and skate sharpening available. The schedule varies daily.

Cronin Skating Rink

Burbank Ice Arena

Burbank Ice Arena is a large indoor rink that is open all year long! They offer a snack bar, warming room, skate sharpening, and a pro shop. The schedule varies by day, and there are additional skate times during school vacation weeks.

The Providence Rink

Rentals ($8.41/skates, $2/helmet)

Public skating hours at this outdoor rink are 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily, weather permitting. They have Skate Aides in the shapes of penguins and snowmen available to rent for $10. Make sure to reserve your skating time in advance!
